It was a season, and a post-season, to remember for both the Rye and Rye Neck tennis teams. While the Garnets used their depth and consistency to win the regular season Conference III League A title, the Panthers — only 5-9 on the season as a team – sent their top two players deeper into the Sectional tournament.

In September, Connor Popp won the 8/9 bracket of the Punt, Pass, and Kick competition held at Disbrow Park. As a result, Connor, 9, advanced to the sectional contest that was held in October at Eastchester High School. He won the sectional round and received a first-place medal, and is now awaiting the results of the statewide sectionals to find out if he will advance to the state finals.

The Rye crew team’s women’s 4+ boat raced at the Head of the Charles, the world's largest two-day rowing event, on October 15. All Election Day long, everyone at the polls, on the streets, and in the school pick-up lanes had pretty much the same thing to say about the City Council race: “Too close to call.” Little did they know how right they actually were.
