It was a season, and a post-season, to remember for both the Rye and Rye Neck tennis teams. While the Garnets used their depth and consistency to win the regular season Conference III League A title, the Panthers — only 5-9 on the season as a team – sent their top two players deeper into the Sectional tournament.
In September, Connor Popp won the 8/9 bracket of the Punt, Pass, and Kick competition held at Disbrow Park. As a result, Connor, 9, advanced to the sectional contest that was held in October at Eastchester High School. He won the sectional round and received a first-place medal, and is now awaiting the results of the statewide sectionals to find out if he will advance to the state finals.

All Election Day long, everyone at the polls, on the streets, and in the school pick-up lanes had pretty much the same thing to say about the City Council race: “Too close to call.” Little did they know how right they actually were.
