Even with the advent of casual Fridays and, worse yet, casual summers, I stuck to my work-a-day uniform: suit, tie, and well-shined shoes. The Music Conservatory of Westchester (MCW) will celebrate the life of their recently deceased Executive Director, Carol Shiffman, with a special tribute concert, “Share the Light: Celebrating the Life of Carol Shiffman”, November 18 at 7 p.m. The evening will include performances by the late Rye resident’s Conservatory “family” and friends.

In the race for the District 7 County Legislator seat, incumbent Democrat Judy Myers defeated Suzanna Keith, her Republican challenger, by a margin of nearly 600 votes. The gap equated to a 6% difference in the 10,490 votes cast. Ms. Myers will serve her fourth term on the Board of Legislators, while Ms. Keith will continue her service on the Rye City Council.
