Planting in window boxes, containers, and other small spaces is a great way to make a big impact. And for those gardeners who just can’t get enough, containers give you the opportunity to plant and care for even more flowers.

Fifteen years ago, I helped a client reupholster a few items in her family home and, in the process, made a friend for life. Last July, she and her daughter, also a client, called to say that after 50 years in that house, she had finally decided to move to a new and smaller space, a three-room apartment on an upper floor in Westchester Country Club’s main building.

Despite the recent warm weather we seized every opportunity this past winter to use our newly rebuilt fireplace and chimney flue.

Everyone wants a welcoming front entrance. This one came with a few limiting factors: deer, shade, and no one had much time to care for the garden.
