Dollars for Duffles Drive for Foster Children

In recognition of National Foster Care Month, Osborn School fourth and fifth graders are asking schoolmates for $2 apiece to buy rolling duffle bags for foster children in the New York Foundling Hospital’s social support programs.

Rye Neck Students Win Their Day in Court

The Rye Neck High School Mock Trial Team was named Westchester County Mock Trial Champions last month after defeating the Blind Brook High School team in the County Finals. The team went on to compete in the Regional Tournament, winning the first two rounds and finishing the year as Regional Finalists. The team was honored on Westchester County Law Day May 2.
Rising Young Filmmakers

Someday, a couple of talented filmmakers from Rye Neck High School may be heading to the Sundance or Tribeca Film festivals, and their proud community will undoubtedly boast, “We knew them when.” After all, sophomores Maxwell Denenberg and Jack Lynch placed second in the Greenwich Youth Film Festival on April 28.
Valiant Performance

Alyssa Coughlan received the female scholar-athlete of the year award from Manhattanville College at an award ceremony April 30. Coughlan, a 2008 Rye High School graduate, completed an excellent four-year career on the field hockey field and in the classroom.
Diversity Day Features Culture Quizzes, Interfaith Education

Rye Middle School students attended a “diversity trade show” on May 4 designed to show students that while we’re all human, we’re all different in some way, too.

Finding themselves in a head-to-head match once again, RHS captain Andrew Gladstone and Harrison captain Michael Ditursi, both seniors, golfed against one another in their final high school match of the regular season Thursday at Westchester Country Club.
Athlete of the Month

Kamal Narayanamurti-Logue was named Athlete of the Month at Rye High School. This year, he was captain of the varsity basketball team and has started on the AAU basketball team in Port Chester. He also played varsity soccer at RHS.
RHS Boys’ Track Wins League Meet

The Rye Boys’ track team won its league meet last week, with a score of 149, topping Byram Hills with 103 points, and Harrison with 94 points.

RHS was hammered by Harrison in softball April 28, losing 11-0 at home.
