At a school assembly on Tuesday, Osborn Elementary students gave The New York Foundling 200 new duffel bags for children in foster care. Students in grades K-5 raised more than $6,000 to buy the gear for The Foundling’s “Cases for Kids” campaign. The luggage helps children in foster care move with dignity when being placed in various foster care homes.
Awards All-Around at Spring Assembly
Rye High School students left their early morning classes May 24 to attend the Spring Awards Assembly, a showcase of student talent and achievement. A number of students received departmental awards, signifying excellence in a certain area; a few outstanding students were recognized for their achievement in sports.

Milton School second graders recently set sail on Long Island Sound to cap off their Oceanography unit.
The group boarded the schooner SoundWaters at Mamaroneck Harbor for the yearly trip. SoundWaters is the flagship for the eponymous environmental education program based in Stamford. The organization is devoted to protecting the Sound.
Where Dreams Are Born and Time is Never Planned

All 75 Midland fifth graders played a part in the recent school production of “Peter Pan”. Students acted, sang, danced, played instruments, created props, moved scenery, and truly took ownership of their production. Dr. Laura Evans directed the musical for two complete casts.

The Rye Middle School Jazz Band, directed by Dan Brown, and Rye High’s Jazz Lab Band, directed by Todd Beaney, got together to perform standards including “My Favorite Things” and “Fly Me To The Moon”.
