While trick or treating was put off by a few days, because of Hurricane Sandy, hundreds of lucky Rye youngsters had a healthy sampling of Halloween at Osborn School’s Scare Fair last Saturday.

Back in the late 1980s, as Lyme disease became identified as a serious problem for people and pets in Westchester County, scientists and the general public came up with a possible “natural” solution – guinea fowl.

Sen. Charles Schumer, after touring damage to Playland from Hurricane Sandy on Friday, said FEMA officials told him that Westchester and Rockland counties will receive federal disaster aid as early as next week.
