School Board Notes
Rye Schools Superintendent Dr. Frank Alvarez began Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting by praising 15 students in grades 5-12 for their selections to the Westchester All County and All State Music Ensembles. “We have recognized our academic and athletic standouts already and now we want to recognize these outstanding musicians,” said Alvarez.
What a Glorious Feelin’
“Singin’ in the Rain” is Rye Neck High School’s musical this year and, like its show-stopping ditty, it promises to put a smile on everyone’s face. A talented cast and crew are combining the 1952 musical’s iconic tunes and snappy tap dance numbers with grand technological feats at Rye Neck’s Performing Arts Center. The curtain will rise at 7 p.m. on February 28, March 1 and 2.
Black History on Screen At the Bruce Museum
This winter the Bruce Museum has partnered with the Connecticut Film Festival to present Movie Nights. In February, which is Black History Month, the Bruce will show four films on that theme.
