Two Rye Country Day fencers fared remarkably well at the Horace Mann Invitational last weekend. Junior Captain Maddy Gallagher won the saber competition for the second year in a row — winning all nine of her matches — and sophomore Emma Chu placed third in girls’ foil.
Frida Henningsson placed runner-up in Slalom competition last month at Bousquet Ski Area in Massachusetts.
Lester’s, the current tenant of 1037 Boston Post Road, may have been the first to offer to buy the building from the City of Rye, but they’re not the last. According to Mayor Doug French, the City has received four “very competitive” bids since it decided to put the property up for sale.
