FRIDAY NIGHT FESTIVAL:
Not even a howling nor’easter stopped supporters of the Friends of Rye Nature Center from making it to their Oktoberfest celebration last Friday.
The 85th edition of The Game — the Rye/Harrison football classic — is set to kick off at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Harrison’s Feeley Field, and the teams will take the gridiron with vastly different expectations.

Having captured the fashionable women’s clientele in town with her eponymous Purchase Street store, Angela Guitard was ready for a new challenge.
When the Garnets play the Huskies in pretty much any sport, there is always something special in the air. On September 28 on their home turf, it was Rye that had that extra something and they closed the door on Harrison 5-0.
The clouds were ominous, as were the first three minutes of Rye Country Day’s matchup against Greens Farms Academy October 1.
