With two of their five starting players injured, Rye Country Day has had to rely on their many young players over the past few weeks.

The dictionary defines topsy-turvy as “topside down.” But in the case of the Rye Country Day Boys’ Basketball team, a better definition would be “bottom side up.”

In the fall, Sarah Elizabeth “Ellie” O’Callaghan was an all-League forward on Rye’s championship field hockey squad.

Garnet fans arrived at Playland Ice Casino January 13 carrying bags full of canned goods for the big “Hockey Against Hunger” game against Mamaroneck.

It has been an exciting season for Garnet girls. The 8-3 team has posted big wins against some stellar teams and beloved senior co-captain Maddy Eck joined the 1,000 Point Club January 8. Only four other Garnet girls have achieved this milestone; the most recent was Lillian McCabe in 2011.

Maria Bianco, a junior at Rye Neck High School, is the winner of the school’s 10th annual Spring Fair logo contest.

The holidays may be behind us, but the merrymaking continues at Rye Neck Middle School nevertheless.

The Harvey School in Katonah has announced the names of the students who earned academic honors for the final marking period of the fall term.

At Steer For Student Athletes’ Annual Holiday Dinner last month, over 100 guests were on hand to support the not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing funding and services to at-risk student athletes. Steer Coordinator Byron Womack and Co-Chair Mike Eck welcomed supporters at the event, held at the Hilton Westchester in Rye Brook.

This school year marks a very prolific time for School of the Holy Child.
