It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Teresa Joyce Silverman, aka Terri. Terri left us peacefully on March 28, 2026, from complications related to cancer. She was 83.
Terri is remembered by friends and family as the life of the party, with a mic in hand, ready to sing any Broadway or Barbara Streisand song.
Terri was born July 25, 1942, in Manhattan, N.Y., to David and Mildred Silverman. She lived in North Palm Beach, Fla., at her time of death, but her heart belonged to her hometown in Rye, where she resided for over 65 years.
Attending both Rye middle and high schools, Terri’s parents owned and operated The Rye Sweet Shop, where Bareburger now stands. She had a tree planted there 35 years ago with a plaque dedicated to her parents.
Terri was a leading member of the Rye community, working as the manager of the Rye Golf Club for over 20 years. She was a large part of upholding the arts in Rye, participating in the community playhouse as both a player and costume designer.
Terri is remembered as a dedicated mother to Tracianne DeVico Fiore (Michael Fiore) of Rye, as well as a very devoted “mimi” to her granddaughter, Gabriella Gomez, of Rye, and aunt to April Silverman, of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Terri is preceded in death by her father, David Silverman, mother, Mildred Silverman, and brother, Joseph Silverman. A memorial service will take place at from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at Graham Funeral Home in Rye.
