Last Sunday, good souls not only attended church, they also later gathered at the Helping Hands for the Homeless and Hungry holiday party at Wainwright House. Guests brought cartons of disposable diapers for families in need, as well as loads of enthusiasm for the small organization with a mighty heart.
Throughout the year, Helping Hands volunteers reach out to our less fortunate neighbors through a number of programs, including Mission Backpack, Project Refresh, and Undie Fundie. On the third Thursday of the month, they make hundreds of sandwiches at Rye Presbyterian Church and deliver them to the Grace Church Community Center in White Plains.
And Helping Hands board members are already talking about additional ways they’d like to help next year.
