A Deep-Rooted Commitment
After a lapse of several years, Rye has received Tree City USA recognition from the Arbor Day Foundation. The Rye Sustainability Committee worked with Rye City staff for reinstatement of this important designation.
Mayor Cohn was on hand to make the official proclamation earlier this month at a ribbon-cutting ceremony near the train station parking lot, where several native trees were planted by the DPW thanks to the Rye Sustainability Committee Tree Fund. Sustainability chair Melissa Grieco, center, and City Councilmember Sara Goddard were among the attendants.
