At the Rye Youth Council’s Scholarship Awards Breakfast, high school seniors from Rye High and Rye Country Day schools are honored for their community service, academic excellence, and good character.

At the Rye Youth Council’s Scholarship Awards Breakfast, high school seniors from Rye High and Rye Country Day schools are honored for their community service, academic excellence, and good character. It’s one of those rare mornings where seniors don’t mind getting up early. In fact, the whole community gets up for the event. There were few empty chairs at this year’s breakfast, held May 30 at Rye Presbyterian Church.

In addition to the eleven different awards the Council annually bestows, student leaders in various RYC programs — Adopt-A-Grandfriend, Wildside, RYC Players, Student Awareness Club, and Teaching for Change — are recognized. 

To the outstanding students and the Youth Council staff and volunteers who sustain and strengthen our community, we offer heartfelt thanks and special commendation.
