Hundreds of supporters — more than 400 of them — came out for the Westchester Children’s Museum spring gala held in the Museum’s future home, the historic North Bathhouse at Playland, May 7. For one magical night, the interior was transformed from a raw construction site to a cocktail lounge, where guests celebrated the people who have steered this project with such faith and fortitude.
Glasses were raised to the evening’s honorees, Nan and Lear Beyer and Bets and Rod Miller. David Milowitz and Stacey Schutzer chaired the event, and the generous crowd donated an astounding $371,000 in one night to ensure that the Museum would indeed open its doors in 2015. Another $83,000 is needed to meet the Challenge Grant announced by the Board at the gala. All contributions received by the end of May will be matched dollar for dollar. There’s never been a better time to give to the Westchester Children’s Museum, whose mission is to inspire, encourage, and educate young minds for generations to come.
