A Veteran Performance

The Rye High School Field Hockey team beat archrival Harrison 9-0 on November 11. The following day, in the last game of the season – there will be no playoffs in 2020 – Rye made a final statement, beating last year’s NY State Champions, Bronxville, 1-0.

Despite the pervasive threat of Covid-19, the team had a successful season, compiling a 9-3 record and achieving a No. 5 ranking. Building upon their successes from last year, their only losses were to Mamaroneck and John Jay, and most of their wins were shutouts.
