Marisa Marino, pictured front row, far right, at the Challenger Center in 2020, is headed far.
Holy Child eighth grader Marisa Marino was one of only 16 students from across the country chosen by NASA (and the only one in the tri-state area) to receive its “You’ve Got Perseverance” Award.
In a surprise celebration on February 15 held in the school’s theater, Marisa received a personal message live from the Perseverance Mars Rover.
Marisa was nominated by her middle school science teacher, Dr. Ashley Massey Marks. Her path to the honor began in 2020 when she served as Mission Director of the Challenger Center Mars simulation on the sixth-grade field trip to the Challenger Center in Ramapo.
The “You’ve Got Perseverance” Award celebrates the grit and determination of the next generation of explorers.
