And Food Justice for All
Food waste is a tragedy in a time when so many people struggle to find enough to eat and excess food in landfills wreaks environmental havoc. Join Manhattanville College on Saturday, September 29 from 2-10 for a day of discussion with county, municipal, and community leaders as they highlight strategies for getting good food into tables.
The event, organized by the MFA Creative Writing Program, will include storytelling to raise awareness and inspire action about hunger and sustainable food production in our region.
Among the experts are Amanda Sackey, Rye Country Day Science teacher; Elisabeth Radow, attorney and Manhattanville College professor of Sustainability Action; Leslie Gordon, president and CEO of Feeding Westchester; Gary Feinland, Environmental Program Specialist, NY State Department of Environmental Conservation; and Lori Fontanes, writer/backyard farmer/community advocate.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.mville.edu/fall-food-justice.
