Rye Historical Society & Leaders of Tomorrow: July 4th Revolutionary Rye 250 Celebration
On July 4 at 10 a.m., the Rye Historical Society, in collaboration with Leaders of Tomorrow, will hold a special event on the Village Green to honor American independence, highlighting Rye’s pivotal role. The event features a historical reenactment, historic speeches and readings, reading of the Declaration of Independence, patriotic songs, and activities. The Square House Inn and Tavern Museum will be open for guided tours immediately following the event, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

CELEBRATE THE ARTS
Listen at the Library
Listen at the Library is an outdoor summer audiobook series that will meet on Tuesday afternoons, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., on the Village Green. The group will listen to “Pride and Prejudice” first (6/25, 7/2, 7/9, 7/16), followed by “Sea of Tranquility” (7/23, 7/30). Light refreshments and snacks will be provided. In the event of inclement weather, sessions will move indoors to the Teen Room.

Osborn Concert Series: Island Magic and Street Life Trio
The Osborn’s Free Thursday Night Summer Concert Series continues with Island Magic on July 11 at 7 p.m. Concerts are held on The Osborn’s South Lawn at 101 Theall Road in Rye. Island Magic plays classic tunes with an island twist, transporting the audience to a Caribbean island for the evening. On July 18 at 7 p.m., three-member band Street Life Trio performs hits from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s as well as contemporary favorites.

Summer Sessions: Better than Ezra w/ Flor Barley Beach House hosts
107.1 The Peak Summer Sessions on the Beach. Better than Ezra. headlines the fourth concert of the season on July 12 at 7 p.m. Better than Ezra is an alternative rock band based in New Orleans who rose to fame in the ’90s. They released their ninth studio album in 2024.

Rye Town Park Summer Concerts
On Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m., Rye Town Park hosts its annual summer concert series. Guests bring their lawn chairs, picnic dinners, blankets, and dancing shoes as a range of local bands take the stage. The first three shows feature Scott Wenzel (July 9), M62s (July 16), and Urban Coyotes (July 23).

30-Day Membership Special
The Rye YMCA is offering a July monthly membership for only $49. Registration is open from June 24 to June 30, and membership is valid for 30 days. Those interested can register online at ryeymca.org or by visiting the membership desk at the Y.

Meditation & Mindful Gardening Service Project
Certified meditation teacher and environmentalist Lexy Tomaino and high school student Max Bajuk will lead participants in a project to improve the pollinator garden and labyrinth at Wainwright House. This week-long project is offered July 8-11 and July 22-26. The money raised will cover gardening supplies.

Rye Farmers Market
On Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. vendors fill the parking lot off Theodore Fremd, behind the Purchase Street stores. The market features regional small-scale farmers, creative food items, and much more. The Rye Farmers Market is run by Down to Earth Markets.

Sunday Meet and Play
The Wainwright House offers a monthly Sunday club for parents to meet, mingle, and unwind while kids enjoy exciting activities provided by Miss Lisa from Wunderkind Earl Learning. The next meetup is June 30 from 10-11:30 a.m. It is geared towards toddlers and preschoolers.
