Annual Spring Luncheon and Boutique
The Rye Historical Society will host its annual luncheon and boutique on May 8 at Shenorock Shore Club. The boutique opens at 10 a.m. and the luncheon begins at noon. Celebrate the Arts
49th Annual Ground Glass Photography Exhibition
The Ground Glass 49th Annual Juried Exhibit at The Rye Arts Center runs until May 2. The show includes 35 images selected by juror Brian Paul Clamp, an internationally recognized authority on American art and photography. The Ground Glass exhibition promises dramatic landscapes, compelling still lifes, dynamic street photography, and abstract imagery. The photographs mirror the varied experiences, styles, and skills of Ground Glass members.

Nature Drawing
The Bird Homestead and Meeting House Conservancy is hosting drop-in nature drawing classes on Thursdays from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. from April 10-June 26. This program honors the work of Alice Bird Erikson (1903-1994), a naturalist, illustrator, and member of the Bird Family who called these properties home.

In the Gallery: Susan Pascale
For the month of April, Susan Pascale’s artwork is on display at the Rye Free Reading Room, with an artist’s reception on April 12, 2-4 p.m. For Pascale, color and light within nature has always had a healing, restorative and transforming effect. She is drawn to the beauty, shapes, color and light of the natural world. Pascale has shown her art through Westchester and Fairfield counties.

Artful Buzz: Art Hop
Artful Buzz will lead an artist studio hop in Rye on April 24, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Attendees will meet four women artists and learn about their careers and creative process first hand. One stop will be at the Rye Arts Center to learn about the Art-O-Mat and tour the galleries. This program meets at the Rye Arts Center. Register in advance at ryeartscenter.org.

Community Events
Carole D. Kirby Memorial Easter Egg Hunt
Sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rye Fire Department and the Rye Fire Department, this year’s Easter Egg Hunt will be held on April 19 at Rye Recreation Park. Line-up starts at 10:30 a.m. and the hunt begins at 11 a.m. sharp. This event is for City of Rye residents only, and for ages 2 years through grade 5.

Beach Cleanup
To honor Earth Day, Edith Read will be hosting a beach cleanup on April 22 from 4-6:30 p.m. This beach cleanup will raise awareness about the health of our beaches and the Long Island Sound and is coordinated in partnership with New York Sea Grants Long Island Sound Study. Participants meet at the Edith Read Wildlife Sanctuary Visitor Center. Buckets, bags, and grabbers will be provided. Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the sunset.

2025 Rye Youth Council Help Helps Soiree
The Rye Youth Council invites community members to join them on April 24, 7-10 p.m., for a fun and festive evening to support Rye Youth Council at its Help Helps Soiree. Rye Youth Council’s mission is to promote youth mental health and wellness. In the months before his retirement, we are honored to celebrate Dr. Eric Byrne and his legacy of strengthening the support for children’s social, emotional, and mental health. Tickets are on sale now.

37th Annual Rye YMCA Derby
This year’s Rye Derby and Healthy Kids Day will be held on April 27. The event starts at 9:15 a.m. with the 5 Mile and 5K run, and the 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk will begin at 11 a.m. The Rye YMCA Derby starts at the Rye YMCA on Locust Avenue, and this event will be held rain or shine.
