“The Unforgiving Yardstick: A Look at Women’s Roles and Struggles in Westchester County,” an art exhibit examining women’s roles in sports, science, politics, and the arts, will be presented at the Rye Historical Society’s
Square House Museum through March 27, 2026.
The show features 23 original works by Fleur Spolidor, featuring portraits of Westchester women, sculpted clothing pieces such as a bathing suit made out of measuring tapes to corsets and cycling bloomers.
The works are intended provoke the viewer into considering the ways in which society has shaped and confined women’s lives, Spolidor said.
The exhibit will run Tuesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information, go to ryehistory.org.
