Luke Passannante, a senior at Regis High School in New York City and starting center for the varsity basketball team, helped the Regis team earn this year’s CHSAA B-Division City Championship and State Championship victories, their first since 2005. The varsity team’s accomplishment takes on additional significance for the school as they celebrate their Centennial this year.
“Although we hadn’t focused much on this season as the Centennial season,” said Passannante “it definitely appears as if things are working out for all levels of the Regis basketball program. The Freshmen, JV, and Varsity teams all made 2014 city finals appearances, with championships now won by the JV and Varsity. That’s pretty special.”
