Barbara Blair (Davidson) Wright passed away on June 6, 2023, in Ponte Vedra
Beach, Florida. She was 82.
Born August 14, 1940, on Staten Island, N.Y., she was the daughter of John
Stowell Davidson and Emma Elizabeth Larned Moore, and the stepdaughter of Oscar Fitzland Moore IV.
She spent much of her life in Rye, N.Y. and Manchester, VT., as well as in Ponte Vedra Beach.
Barbara Wright leaves behind a legacy of adventure and creativity. Her love for the outdoors extended to skiing and scuba diving, and she fearlessly embraced the slopes and oceans around the world. An avid athlete, she excelled in tennis and won multiple golf championships.
Her impeccable taste in interior and garden design showcased her artistic flair and attention to detail. The spaces she created reflected her vibrant personality.
In recent years, she developed a passion for bridge, which engaged her sharp mind and fostered social connections.
She will be fondly remembered by her family and many friends for her competitive spirit, determination, and keen sense of humor.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 53 years, John King Wright. Together, they navigated life’s ups and downs. She is also survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Blair (Bob) Marotto of Ponte Vedra Beach, and her son, Jed Savage (Cynthia) of Stamford, Conn.; her stepchildren, Laura Wooton of Louisville, Ky., and John K. (Kelly) Wright Jr. of Geneva, Switzerland; and her nine grandchildren who she held close to her heart. She was predeceased by her sister, Sydney Davidson Morgan.
