Sharpen your skates and dust off your helmet, because the second annual Rye High School Ice Hockey Alumni Game is scheduled for December 21 at the Playland Ice Casino.
For a minimum contribution of $75, players receive bench advice from Hall of Fame coach John Zegras, as well as camaraderie, ice time, a keepsake jersey, a commemorative game program, and the chance to meet the current Rye Garnets.
Benefitting from donations are both the modified team and varsity squad, which has consistently ranked among the top 10 in New York over the past seasons. During that same span, the Garnets have won three Section titles and were runner-up twice. Funds collected above the cost to put on the game go to supplement the Rye High School hockey budget.
Â
Face-off is set for 7:30, and Kelly’s has graciously offered to accommodate participants after the game.
Â
Checks can be made payable to the Rye Hockey Booster Club, and should be sent to Susan Talgo at 40 Mendota Ave., Rye, NY 10580. Send in your check ASAP to reserve your roster spot. Roster spots will be reserved on a first come/first served basis.
