Students in grades K-5 raised more than $6,000 to buy the gear for The Foundling’s “Cases for Kids” campaign, a fund drive that coincided with Foster Care Awareness Month in May.
The elementary school’s top fundraisers were: Olivia MacDonald, Lizzie Blonstien, Daniel Ulichy, Davis Chader, Sammy Tambe, Kevin Curran, Paige Lyons, Bernie Costello, Annie Kirkpatrick, Katherine Langer, Noah Burdsall, Alex Spinola, Simone Fortin, Kathryn Ogg, Sophie Annett, and Andrew DeRusso

Osborn students raised most of the money themselves, through bake sales and doing extra chores; one child donated his First Communion money, others donated in honor of their mother as a Mother’s Day gift.
The luggage drive coincided with Foster Care Awareness Month. Alan Shatz, NY Foundling Director of Community Relations, said that Osborn Elementary was far away the most generous school participating in this effort.
The New York Foundling is one of the City’s largest and oldest family service agencies dedicated to saving children, preserving families, and building communities.
