The Rye Historical Society sponsored the event, which featured reenactments, live music, historic costumes, Square House tours, and activities for all ages.
According to Suzanne Clary, the president and interim executive director of the Jay Heritage Center, more than 35,000 visitors trek to the property each year. 
Piper Tenney, a senior at Rye High School, was honored for excellence in poetry by creative writing teacher Roni Sarig. 
The aim is to include all Rye veterans who have served in the military on the city’s memorials and monuments.
