The Rye Chamber of Commerce’s 12th Chili Cook-Off, which traditionally took place during a post-Thanksgiving event called Mistletoe Magic, has been spun off as a standalone happening.
The cook-off is to be held on Oct. 4 at the Rye Recreation building on Midland Avenue. Proceeds from the event support the Rye Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund.
The Chamber’s long-running Mistletoe Magic program didn’t attract enough merchant support to take place in 2025. The Chamber has decided to scratch that program and build on an event held last year called The Holiday Stroll.
This year’s Holiday Stroll is slated for the evening of Thursday, Nov. 19. An organizing committee led by Chamber Co-President Dabney Lee Woglom is ironing out details of a program designed to “celebrate the charm of downtown Rye with shopping, dining, entertainment and community.”
