Valtori Pizza Connection, which served Italian food at its 1004 Boston Post Road location since the fall of 2018, has closed its doors.
Valtori owner Joseph Valente said he expected another pizza-focused eatery to occupy the space.
Work to demolish the old Town Dock restaurant and two other former businesses at 11–15 Purdy Avenue has begun. MM Real Estate has received approval for a three-story, mixed-use development on the site with space for street retail tenants and eight apartments.
Renovations to convert the former TD Bank at 42 Purchase Street into a bakery café are underway, according to Shawn Noh of Syn Architecture & Engineering, the firm hired for the project by developer James Kim.
“This project transforms a former bank into an upscale, pet-friendly coffee shop,” according to Syn’s website. “The design features a refined Tiffany-inspired color palette, sleek finishes, and modern touches. The space blends luxury with warmth, offering a high-end coffee experience. A custom logo, inspired by the owner’s dog, adds a personal and distinctive touch.”
Several new businesses opened their doors downtown this fall, including Tweed’s Custom Suits at 80 Purchase Street and Lulu Skincare & Beauty Bar at 18 Purchase Street.
In late November, Patisserie Salzburg on 2 Second St. expanded its menu to serve Mediterranean and Persian foods like that at Medi Bistro in White Plains, a sister restaurant also owned by Par Shakiban. Patisserie Salzburg now offers sit-down service for such items as kabobs, branzino, and salads in its 40-seat café.
