This week is the last time Rye’s City Council is scheduled to meet off-site, as work on the City Hall HVAC system nears its completion. The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Osborn.
It’s a light agenda, which will conclude with Mayor Josh Nathan’s first State of the City address. Last year, then-Mayor Josh Cohn delivered the first State of the City in five years. Nathan, who was sworn in this January, will continue the tradition, offering his insights on the city’s present and future.
The council will also consider a request from Apple Studios to use portions of Purdy Avenue and city parking spaces to film an episode of “Your Friends & Neighbors” from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on May 14. The show, starring Jon Hamm, filmed parts of Seasons 1 and 2 in Rye, and now hopes to return for the upcoming third season.
In another action item Wednesday, a resolution will authorize City Manager Brian Shea to transfer $154,000 from Rye Golf Club’s reserve account to support the replacement of the passenger elevator at Whitby Castle.
