Clinton Wesley Phy died peacefully at his home in Rye, N.Y. on July 25, 2023. He was 89.
Born on May 26, 1934, he was raised in Maryland until the age of 15, when the family moved to Rye. He remained a Rye resident for the rest of his life.
In 1952, he graduated from Rye High School, where he met his future wife, Geraldine Kelley, the love of his life.
In addition to family, he loved fishing on Nantucket with the October Boys, singing out loud (he had a wonderful voice), country music, especially Willie Nelson, Sunday brunch at the bar at Kelly’s, and his beloved wife Geri.
Mr. Phy is survived by his daughter, Lizzie Phy-Collins and her partner Robert Rogers and her children Riefe (Meredith), Harrison (Dominique), and Lacey; his sons, Andrew Phy and Charlie Phy (Lynne) and their children Christiane and Kelley; and his siblings, Lester (Lori) Phy, Dena Keck, and Sarah (Cliff) Kinney. He was predeceased by his wife Geraldine Kelly Phy, his brother-in-law Lee Keck, and nephew David Keck.
The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home July 30, from 4-6 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated July 31 at 10 a.m. at Church of the Resurrection. The Mass will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person.
