The Westchester County Department of Health has preemptively closed Coveleigh Club beach Monday after 0.63 inches of rainfall in the past 24 hours, again citing potential bacterial contamination from stormwater runoff.
Hudson Park Beach, Davenport Beach Club, Greentree Country Club, and Surf Club on the Sound in New Rochelle, as well as Harbor Island Park, Beach Point Club, Orienta Beach Club, and Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club in Mamaroneck have also closed their beaches.
This marks the second time already in September and the ninth time this summer that the department has closed Coveleigh’s beach.
The beach is allowed to reopen tomorrow barring significant rainfall.
