Melissa Pesce earned a Master’s degree in Nonfiction Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. Her thesis project was entitled “Rita Hayworth and Brigitte Bardot: Midcentury Sex Symbols in Film.” While at Sarah Lawrence, she completed the Community of Writers placement, tutoring students in writing at Westchester Community College’s writing tutorial. Pesce is a 2008 graduate of Bryn Mawr College.
Hank Birdsall earned a Master of Science degree in Range and Wildlife Management from Texas A & M at Kingsville. His thesis was “Management of White-Tailed Deer in the Cattle Fever Tick Permanent Quarantine Area of Zapata County, Texas.
The 2004 Rye High School graduate also holds two Bachelor’s degrees: Finance and Marketing from Boston College in 2008, and Biology and Chemistry from SUNY Purchase in 2011.
Cem Gultekin, 17, has earned a place on the Dean’s List for the Spring 2015 semester at Bard College at Simon’s Rock. Gultekin attended Rye High School before leaving after completing tenth grade to attend college early.
