The annual Interfaith Martin Luther King Jr., community–wide commemoration will take place this year on Sunday, January 24 starting at 6. All are welcome at the non-denominational celebration to be held at Christ’s Church in Rye.
The event will include readings from Dr. King’s body of work, as well as performances by the Port Chester High School Select Chorus and the Port Chester Middle School Grade 8 Chorus.
This year’s keynote speaker is Rabbi Jaymee Alpert of Congregation Kneses Tifereth Israel. Maria Massa and Ida Kilpatrick will receive the 2016 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Committee Humanitarian Awards.
The Clergy Consortium, comprised of local houses of worship, co-sponsors the event with the Port Chester School District.
