Over 500 people hit the ground running for Rye Recreation’s 36th annual Turkey Trot last Saturday. And many a dog had his day at the Paws-A-Thon. Whether participating in the 1-mile fun run or one of the more competitive races, families just wanted to have fun.

Congratulations to the top finishers and all the fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, grandparents, and well-behaved pets that took part in Rye’s favorite post-Thanksgiving tradition.
Julian Scheinbaum, 22, was first among the men in the 5K Race, with a time of .17:18; Haya Hopple, 33, was the first female, with a time of .19:56.

In the 5.2-Mile Race, Alexandra Swiatocha, 25, placed first among the women and 11th overall, with a time of :32:42; Paul Rupprcht, 29, was the overall male winner, with a time of :26:38.

A number of Rye residents were among the top finishers in their age divisions. And finishing an impressive third in the 5K was the City’s Corporation Counsel, Kristen Wilson.
