The tennis community came out to help Sound Shore Indoor Tennis celebrate its 40th anniversary the afternoon of September 13. The courts were filled with players testing their serve (courtesy of the radar gun), getting tips from the pros, and doing fun drills. In the lounge, families chatted and tried their hand at another net game, Ping-Pong. The award-winning pro shop was busier than ever that day.

Built in 1974 by John and Marie Messina, Sound Shore is still family-owned and operated. Their daughters, Vicki Messina and Angela Stevens preserve the traditions and relationships established by their parents while providing innovative, high-quality tennis programming on their 12 climate-controlled courts. Players too continue the tradition, with second and third generations returning each season.
