Rye Pack 2 and Pack 11 conducted a joint Senior Webelos Court of Honor last month.
Rye Pack 2 and Pack 11 conducted a joint Senior Webelos Court of Honor last month. Parents, siblings, and friends watched and took part in the ceremony during which 18 Rye Webelos became Boy Scouts. Pack 2 Cub Master Eric Harvey and Pack 11 Cub Master Lawrence Sullivan recognized the boys’ achievements and wished them future success. Rye Troop 2 Scout Master Bill Haigney and the troop’s youth leadership welcomed the new Boy Scouts, encouraging them to continue the scouting journey of leadership and skill development that can culminate with earning the rank of Eagle Scout.
All 18 of the new scouts completed 100 percent of the requirements — earning a set of activity badges, participating in campouts and hikes, and demonstrating knowledge of the Boy Scout Oath, Promise, and Scout Law — and each received the Arrow of Light, decorated with beads representing their accomplishments.
Rye Troop 2 meets at Rye Presbyterian Church every Tuesday night that Rye schools are in session, at 7:20 p.m. For information about Boy Scouts or Rye Troop 2, contact Scout Master Bill Haigney at wfhaigney@gmail.com or Troop Secretary Debbie Bharucha at debbieb.mac1@me.com.
