Kelly Whelan – Brad Larkin
Mr. and Mrs. William J. Whelan III of Rye are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Susan Whelan, to Bradley David Larkin, son of Mrs. Anne Wilson Larkin of St. Louis, Missouri, and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Larkin of Glen Allen, Virginia.
The future bride is a graduate of Greenwich Academy and the University of Virginia, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History. Ms. Whelan received her law degree <cum laude> from Fordham University School of Law in 2016 and is an associate in the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York City. Her father is a partner in the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and her mother is a legal expert for the Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations.
The future groom is a graduate of Deep Run High School in Glen Allen, Virginia, and the University of Virginia, from which he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Studies and History. Following college, he worked for two years as an English teacher at Great Oaks Charter High School in Newark, New Jersey, while attending graduate school, and received a Master’s degree in Secondary English Education from New York University. Mr. Larkin currently works as a paralegal at the New York law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and plans to attend law school in the fall. His father is an officer at the Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond and his mother is a compliance manager for Wells Fargo Bank.
The couple met at college on a program abroad in Germany. A September wedding is planned at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye.
