Darin Porter and Laura Coash of Rye, N.Y. are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Channing Nadine Porter, to Capt. Jacob Deane Johnson, the son of Peggy and Col. Roger Johnsonof Beavercreek, Ohio.
The couple, who met in 2022 in Nashville, Tenn., got engaged earlier this year.
The future bride, a Rye native, received a B.A. from SUNY Geneseo in 2017 and an M.Ed. from Vanderbilt University in 2020. She is a Business Development Representative at Oracle-NetSuite, and a former English teacher in Metro Nashville Public Schools.
The future groom graduated from Cedarville University in 2018. He is currently a Signal Captain in the United States Army, and previously served as a field artillery officer in the 101st Airborne Division.
Ms. Porter currently resides in Nashville and Capt. Johnson in Augusta, Ga.
They will be married on April 15, 2023. A ceremony and celebration of marriage with family and friends will follow on October 21 at Shenorock Shore Club.
