Rye’s firefighters decorated fire trucks, grabbed goodie bags, and helped Santa get his sleigh ready to go for their annual candy can run on Sunday.

Fire trucks escorted Santa around Rye to holiday music as well as lights and sirens. The motorcade stopped at schools, in neighborhoods, and at landmarks around the city, greeting families and handing out goodie bags.

The event, in its fourth year, is held to bring joy to Rye and create a sense of community during the holiday season, said firefighter Daniel Archino. The event has attracted more residents each year.

The firefighters next event will be a Saint Patrick’s Day Ball on Saturday March 8, 2025. They are selling tickets online at 2029fundraising.com. Proceeds go to local charities in the city.
