CAB Bridge Opening Not Too Far Away
This week, installation of the gas and utility mains at the Central Avenue Bridge commenced. The bridge, which was destroyed in the floods in the spring of 2007, is on schedule for an August 18 opening.
City Engineer Ryan Coyne told the paper, “Barring any weather crises, ELQ Industries and will meet the contract date, and may even beat it.” He also credited Ammann & Whitney Consulting Engineers for keeping the project on schedule.
Pave Away
The City is ready to roll with its annual street and sidewalk repair program. Before Labor Day, they will pave the Post Road between Parsons Street and Central Avenue, and the Milton Road corridor sidewalk between Dearborn and Hewlett avenues. A number of other needed city sidewalk repairs will be completed by late fall.
