Contacted earlier this week, Kim Morque, the new President of Sustainable Playland Inc., the Rye group that was selected by the County last month to lead a whole new plan for the landmarked amusement park, said they were continuing to move forward.
“We have a great plan shaped by the founding members, Dhruv Narain, Sandhya Subbarao, and Peter Rukeyser. They were the spark, the drive,” he said.
In addition to Morque and Rukeyser, who serves as treasurer, the board consists of Joe Carlucci, Vice-President and Acting General Counsel, and Anne Pollard, Secretary. Morque said they kept the board small in order to be able to act quickly and decisively.
“We have a large advisory council and a great team of operators we’re working with,” he continued. “We have the support of the County and Westchester residents, and the vision to make this a year-round destination for all.”
Morque said the board has met with the Westchester Children’s Museum, “and there are great synergies with their project”, and the Board of Legislators Government Operations Committee.
“The plan is sometimes the easy part. Now the real work begins,” said Morque.
