Judge Joseph Latwin opened the December 17 Rye City Court session by announcing that the date was the 110th anniversary of the Wright Brothers’ Kitty Hawk flight. Then he asked those present, presumably including Scott Yandrasevich and his attorney Kerry Lawrence, if they knew, among other things, how long the flight lasted. Answer, according to Latwin: 12 seconds.
It took a little longer than that for Latwin to grant the District Attorney an adjournment until January 7. The DA’s Office of Public Integrity wants more time to present its case to a Grand Jury.
Yandrasevich, who now resides in Danbury, is accused of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree for allegedly stealing $271,000 from Rye Golf Club. He faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in state prison. He appeared in court on November 19, at which time, his wife posted $10,000 cash bail for his release.
