Joseph W. Taylor passed away on March 28, 2026, at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, Conn., at age 89.
Born on May 22, 1936, Joseph dedicated much of his life to serving his community through his work with the Rye Department of Public Works and spring lawn services.
Joseph was a devout member of the Mt. Zion Evangelical Church in New Rochelle, N.Y., where he actively participated and lived his life guided by his Christian faith. His commitment to his work and his church was evident in the long hours he spent at both, always striving to make a positive impact.
Joseph’s life was honored with a viewing and visitation Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Mutts-Willoughby Funeral Home in Scotland Neck, N.C. His funeral service was the following day, Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Mary’s Chapel Baptist Church, also in Scotland Neck, N.C.
