Marie Marguerite (Fortin) Beringer, daughter of Gaston Lalonde Fortin and Elizabeth Freanor Fortin, passed away quietly surrounded by her five children: Elizabeth, Frederick, Virginia, Geoffrey, Robin Beringer (and grandchild Owen Beringer).
Marie was blessed with 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Bruce Marshall Beringer, and brother, Roger Tate Fortin.
Throughout her life, Marie exuded an enthusiastic spirit she brought into everything she did. She was an embodiment of “looking on the bright side.”
For decades, Marie was a member of the Soundettes, and other musical therapy groups that shared their uplifting music in nursing homes, children’s hospitals, and elder centers.
Marie and Bruce raised their family in Larchmont, N.Y., and later moved to New Hampshire, where they spent the rest of their days.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marie may be made to The Gorham Community Learning Center, The Randolph Foundation, or the Upper Valley Adult Day Care.
