Rye High’s girls basketball team edged conference rival Harrison last Friday, 41-36. The game was huge because it gave the Garnets an all-important first win and confidence boost after three losses.
On Monday, RHS suffered another tough defeat, 54-29, to a powerful Alexander Hamilton squad, now 9-0.
“We’re trying to prove everyone wrong and show them that we can hold our own in our League, and maybe even make a run in the playoffs,’’ said Maddie Eck, who scored eight points against Hamilton. “Our team knows that we have the potential to be a contender.”
