Rye continued its 14-game win streak with a 39-13 blowout of Nyack.
Against the Redhawks on a wet Saturday evening, the Garnets moved to 4-0 on the season proving their proficiency in both facets of the game. They started their fourth straight game with an opening three-and-out on defense. On the other end, they scored on a Chris Iuliano run — the 10th straight game the senior captain has scored a rushing touchdown.
The Garnets again kept Nyack from a first down on the second drive of the game, and followed that defensive stop with another score on a Carson Miller pass to junior receiver Thomas Goldszer for the first touchdown catch of his career.
Miller would finish the game with three touchdown passes, and has now thrown 13 this season.
Other first half scores came from senior captain Jake Kessner, who’s now recorded five touchdown receptions in his last three games, and senior Ty Ramachandran, who’s scored in every game he’s played this season.

The Garnets took a 26-0 lead into halftime, and have now shut their opponents out in the first half of their last three games.
The second half proved more of the same.
The Garnets found the end zone in the third and fourth — on a rushing touchdown from senior captain Archer Fenton, and a 45-yard receiving score from Jake Kessner — to push their lead to 39-7.
Kessner finished with six receptions for 114 yards along with two scores.
Defensively, the team’s veteran leadership continued its strong play, holding Nyack to just 15 passing yards.
Senior Connor Brady recorded his third straight game with a tackle for a loss, and Iuliano and Fenton each had pass deflections on third down to set up scoring drives for Rye. Junior Michael Talbott also recorded a fumble recovery in the fourth after a loose ball was forced by senior Lucas Felshman.

The team has set a new standard on both sides of the ball this season. Through the first four games, the Garnets’ 161 points scored are the most by any Rye team over the last 20 seasons, and their +99-point differential is the highest since 2016.
‘I think our aggressiveness on both sides of the ball has propelled us to this point,” said Iuliano. ‘We got tested early but the team’s responded well and we have been playing well together since then. The line on both sides of the ball has done a great job.”
Coach Dino Garr was pleased with the effort on Saturday.
“It was a job well done … a lot of guys got a chance to play, and while we need to do a better job cleaning up some tackling issues, I think it was a solid victory,” Garr said.
Rye will return home to Nugent Stadium Saturday to take on Clarkstown South, who fell to 2-2 after a 20-3 loss to Eastchester.
