Back by popular demand, and just in time for Mother’s Day, the Children’s Philanthropy section of the Woman’s Club of Rye will host its 11th Spring Boutique Wednesday, May 6 from 10-8 at Apawamis Club.
The immensely popular event, formerly known as Designing Women, has grown from a small local boutique showcasing local women’s crafts and small businesses at the Rye Free Reading Room to a grand, national vendor boutique at Apawamis Club. It is also a hugely important fundraiser for the Children’s Philanthropy organization, to which vendors donate a portion of their proceeds for distribution among local organizations that support Rye children and their families.
Christa Liddy, Faiza Imam, and Fiona Dogan are delighted to return as co-chairs for the 2015 Boutique and are excited to present a selection of the most historically successful and popular vendors alongside some fresh and exciting new faces. Building on the success of last year’s Boutique, the co-chairs have been diligently researching vendors by visiting similar events throughout Westchester, Connecticut, and New York City. They have come up with an appealing variety of designer wares from jewelry, clothing and scarves to beauty products, chocolates, and eyewear.
Among the returning vendors are Ilyse’s Pieces (jewelry), Sophie’s Closet (clothing), and Everything’s Rosey (assorted accessories, scarves, and bags). New vendors include Yatra and Saba Stash (exotic tunics and summerwear), Haverhill (stunning silver jewelry), and Persole (sophisticated parasols and umbrellas).
The event will feature door prizes from every vendor, and the opportunity to enjoy a delicious luncheon and an evening cash bar with hors d’oeuvres at the elegant club.
Not only is the Children’s Philanthropy Spring Boutique a fun and fabulous day out, it is shopping for a cause. It is just one of the many fundraisers the Woman’s Club Children’s Philanthropy hosts every year to make a difference in the lives of Rye’s children.
Save the date and tell all your friends! See you May 6.
