Three local female golfers took the top three spots in the International Junior Golf Tour’s (IJGT) 36-hole event at Architects Golf Club in Lopatcong, New Jersey, last month.
Three local female golfers took the top three spots in the International Junior Golf Tour’s (IJGT) 36-hole event at Architects Golf Club in Lopatcong, New Jersey, last month.
It was Gabriella Correia’s second win at Architects. She is an eighth grader at School of the Holy Child. Her first-round score of 9-over par 80 was followed by a final round score of 10-over par 81, giving her a tournament total of 19-over par 161 and first-place honors at the Jersey Championship.
Rye High sophomore Alexis Hios finished a close second, posting a tournament low first-round score of 8-over par 79 which included three birdies. Hios recorded a final round score of 83 and a tournament total of 20-over par 162.
RHS senior Jennifer Lee closed out the top-three of the Girls Division, carding rounds of 86 and 80 for a tournament total of 166. Lee also was named “Player of the Week.” Her final round of 80 was the lowest of anyone in that round. And she scored pars on 17 holes.
