The Rye High School Chem Club recently garnered 3rd place in the American Chemical Society Division of the History of Chemistry essay contest. For the nationwide competition, the Rye High team of teachers and students wrote about the history and dangers of food dyes used in candy. And through their research, they learned about the formation of the FDA and the evolution of its policies.
