The Rye City Republican Club will host their second annual “Grand Old Party” Summer Picnic and BBQ, June 23 from 4-7 p.m. at the lower shelter of Rye Recreation’s Damiano Center, 281 Midland Avenue.
Club President Matt Thomas says, “2013 is a very important year for Republican politics, and a very important year for Rye City politics in particular. Voters will be electing a new mayor, three Councilmembers, a County Legislator, and County Executive this November.”
Last year’s picnic was an overwhelming success, adds Thomas. “We had over 125 picnickers our first time out and all three GOP primary candidates for the U.S. Senate attended. We expect to build on last year’s success and look forward to having Rye Mayor Doug French as our featured speaker.”
Republicans and non-Republicans alike are all welcome. The picnic is a family-friendly affair with games and face painting for kids with food and drink the whole family will enjoy.
Tickets are $15 for individuals, $30 for families. Checks may be mailed to RCRC, Inc., P.O. Box 3, Rye, NY 10580, or purchased online at www.ryegop.org/picnic.
